Yesterday, my cousins and I went to La Union we rode on a van instead of riding a bus we decided that it would be much faster that way and it would be all to ourselves since there were eight of us but we also considered the idea of riding a bus since it’s much cheaper than riding a van since were going to be renting one. Along the way we admired the view from the steep cliff as some of us goofed around inside the van in other words we made our trip “fun” to take our mind off from our drivers’ way of handling the wheel.
Our driver was so confident behind the wheel that it takes him a lot of courage to swerve along the lanes and overtake some vehicles much larger than our own. I must admit though that I prayed for our trip to be safe as I value my life much as to my companions as well. Anyway, the trip came out to be safe though there were bumps along the way we had to stop because one my cousins felt sick and was becoming nauseant. As a whole the trip went fine.
We were getting ready for a swim when we got a call from our uncle, apparently there was an accident involving a bus on the way to La Union as well but it was on a different route the bus destination was supposedly set off towards Manila. The news about the accident made me realize that we really don’t have control of our lives, that it could be taken away with a snap of a finger however it could also be avoided if people would be careful with their driving.
There are certain ways of avoiding this type of accidents as there are seminars for drivers as a safety precaution to driving. Ford Company Philippines has created a Driving Skills For Life Program(DSFL) which could be useful not only for beginners but it applies to all drivers. Accidents don’t just happen for no reason, it only does when we let it and there are ways that we can prevent it from happening.
